Hi - I'm Joe Stratmann. I'm a PhD student in philosophy at the University of California, San Diego. Before coming to UCSD in the fall of 2015, I finished my BA in the spring of 2015 at the University of Notre Dame.
My research primarily focuses on the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. I have broad interests in Kant's theoretical and practical philosophy. My dissertation investigates how Kant's longstanding attempt to provide an adequate account of ground [Grund] underscores the critique of pure reason in the Critique of Pure Reason. My other philosophical interests include contemporary metaphysics and ethics, early modern philosophy (especially Leibniz and Spinoza), and post-Kantian German philosophy.
